Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with his cabinet ministers today called on Governor Banwarilal Purohit to discuss several development issues of the state.
Purohit outlined the need for extending governance to every nook and corner of the state and hailed the government's initiative of 'Sabka Saath Sabka Bikash', an official release said.
The chief minister apprised the governor of the initiatives taken by the present government for the welfare of all sections of people of the state.

He said that all road projects in the state should be taken in right earnest and asked PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya to ensure that the projects get completed at an early date so that people from all over the country can explore the natural beauty and rich culture of Assam.
The governor also discussed the issue of rhino poaching and asked Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma to adopt more stringent, proactive and vigilant measures to curb the menace.
Purohit endorsed various schemes that the state government has been taking on agriculture, water resources, information and technology, education, health, irrigation, road transport, labour welfare and emphasised on ensuring their effective and speedy implementation.
Commerce and Industry Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Rihon Daimary, PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Water Resources Minister Keshab Majanta, Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Environment and Forest Minister Pramila Rani Brahma were present in the meeting.
