Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit today condemned the Pengeri insurgent attack on an army convoy in Tinsukia district in which three soldiers were killed and four others injured.
In a statement, Purohit termed the incident as condemnable, inhumane and an act of cowardice.
"Killing and injuring the soldiers, who were on duty, will not serve any purpose. It is indeed the signs of desperation and frustration on the part of the insurgents, who are guided by their sheer myopic view. Such an act of high-handedness has no place in a democratic society," he added.
