Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that with Ram Nath Kovind as the new president the people of Assam and the north east will see a paradigm shift in terms of all round development.
"With Kovindji adorning the office of the President, the nation building process in the north east and other parts of the country will get a great boost," he was quoted as saying in an official release here.
Sonowal and Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit attended the swearing-in ceremony of Kovind as the 14th president at the Central Hall of Parliament in New Delhi.
"Kovindji rose from a humble position that of a farmer's son to the highest constitutional post of the country and his repertoire of knowledge and understanding of the Constitution will immensely benefit the nation in the days ahead," Sonowal said after the swearing-in.
