The West Bengal Assembly has passed the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (Amendment) Bill 2013.
The state government said it was facing some practical difficulties while implementing the provisions of the 2002 Act as modality of selection and conditions of service of the posts of vice-chancellor and pro vice-chancellor were not been specified in it.
Hence, it had been considered necessary to amend the Act, government sources said.
