Union Health Minister J P Nadda today asked Delhi Health Minister Satyender Jain to assess preparedness levels in preventing and managing any possible outbreak of dengue in the national capital.
Nadda, who had recently paid surprise visits to several Delhi hospitals, instructed Jain to increase the preparedness in the hospitals and to see that breeding grounds of mosquitoes are sanitised.
He also advised the Delhi health minister to increase awareness on prevention, symptoms and dos and don'ts of dengue, which claims many lives every year.
Nadda had paid a visit to RML and Safdarjung hospitals on July 10 and 17, respectively, to check their preparedness and had also instructed officials there to ensure availability of platelets and cleanliness in the premises.
