Assets worth crores seized from engineer in Bihar

The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police today raided the houses of a senior PHED official and seized disproportionate assets worth Rs 2.16 crore, police said today.

"The EOU unit raided houses of PHED's executive engineer Braj Bhushan Prasad Sinha in the city and Bhabhua," Additional DGP (Headquarters) Ravindra Kumar told reporters.

A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been lodged against Sinha, who is currently posted at Bhabhua in Kaimur district, he said.

"Assets seized by the EOU, include two flats in Patna and one at Jalalpur city in Danapur and their expected valuation was Rs 81 lakh," the ADG said.
 

The EOU sleuths also unearthed documents related to three plots of around eight kottahs registered under his wife's name and a 500-sq metre of land in Noida, he said.
