Assets worth Rs 5.5 crore found from Bihar ADM's premises

The vigilance department has raided residence of Additional District Magistrate Vijay Prasad Singh in Darbhanga and recovered documents of 'illegal' assets to the tune of Rs 5.5 crore by him mostly in Uttar Pradesh, an official said today.

The recent raid revealed papers showing that Singh allegedly amassed illegal assets during his postings at Mahraura sub-division in Saran district and in the office of Darbhanga Commissioner, his current posting.

Singh's immovable assets in his native district Deoria in Uttar Pradesh include two houses worth Rs 2.5 crore and 1.5 crore, a residential school worth Rs 2 crore, and a petrol pump, Vigilance DIG Pradeep Kumar Srivastava told reporters.
 

The ADM also has cash deposit of Rs 1.25 crore in 16 bank accounts and various investments worth Rs 24.40 lakh,

An FIR has been lodged against the ADM for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.
