Assistance sanctioned to Maoist killings affected families

The government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each, to family members of 35 people who were killed by Maoists, Karimnagar District Collector Neethu Kumari Prasad announced here today.

Addressing a meeting at the collectorate auditorium where the sanctioned amount was distributed, she said that 51 applications were received and after proper scrutiny 35 applications were found eligible for financial assistance.

Rest of the applications for financial assistance are under perusal, she said.

She also directed officials to allot housing sites to those who received financial assistance.

Karimnagar Superintendent of Police V Shiva Kumar and others were also present at the meet.
