Assistant bank manager arrested by CBI for taking bribe

An assistant manager of a bank was arrested red-handed by a CBI team here while taking bribe for passing a loan in Bhatni area, officials said today.

Narendra Kumar, who is assistant branch manager of Central Bank Bhatani branch, was nabbed yesterday while taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 from one Pramod Kumar Barnwal, CBI team incharge R K Tiwari said.

He said Barnwal, who is a medicine trader, had earlier lodged a complaint at CBI Lucknow office that Narendra was demanding money to clear his loan of Rs 7 lakh.

Police said on CBI's complaint a case was being lodged against the assistant manager.
