An Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes Department has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs two lakh for passing a transporter's trucks through highway checkposts in Sikar district.
A transporter had complained to the ACB that J P Meena and his 'agent' Raghveer Singh had demanded Rs 4 lakh for allowing trucks to pass through checkposts without any checking in Sikar district, an official spokesperson said.
An advance of Rs 2 lakh was demanded by the accused through the agent. ACB laid a trap on the highway and caught both of them red-handed yesterday, she said.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been lodged against Meena and Singh.
A separate ACB team was searching Meena and Singh's premises to ascertain their income and assets, the spokesperson added.
