Apex industry body Assocham today announced the setting up of a sectoral council on pre-school education in the eastern region with a view to preparing a paper for the holistic development of a child.
Newly-appointed chairman of the council Tamal Mukherjee said that the primary objective was to survey the current status of the facilities offered by private and government schools in the region.
Mukherjee, also the co-founder of the Little Laureates pre-school chain, said that the council would then compile modules for early childhood education.
The council would also collaborate with the state government school education department for rolling out guidelines to the schools for better management of such entities.
