India's premier trade body, ASSOCHAM will launch its Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) chapter here next week aiming to attract businesses from the region to capitalise on the new government's 'Make-in-India' initiative.

"The GCC region is home to one of the largest Indian communities outside India and is amongst the largest trading partners and a major source of FDI," a statement issued by Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) said.

This effort is meant to capitalise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's global push with the 'Make-in-India' initiative, an international marketing campaigning to attract businesses from around the globe to invest and manufacture in India.

An interactive session has also been organised with ASSOCHAM's President Rana Kapoor.

Kapoor is the founding CEO of YES Bank, India's 4th largest private sector bank.

Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are the member states of GCC.
