Police have released the sketch of one of the miscreants accused of shooting at Assistant Commissioner Sales Tax here, police said today.
A sketch of one of the two bike-bourne assailants has been released, Kalyanpur police station SO Alok Mani Tripathi said.
About two dozen people have been detained and are being questioned in case but no arrests have been made so far, Tripathi added.
Assistant Commissioner Sales Tax R S Mishra had gone for morning walk with Joint Commissioner Sales Tax Ashok Kumar Singh yesterday, when two bike-borne miscreants tried to loot Singh. Mishra was shot at when he tried to intervene and stop the miscreants.
He was rushed to the hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
Five police teams are searching for the accused duo and the security of homes of both, Mishra and Singh, has been increased, Tripathi said.
On receiving the information about the incident yesterday, senior police officers including IG and SSP reached the spot and took stock of the incident.
