Gulf-based Aster DM Healthcare Group today announced it would launch two more hospital projects in Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.
This would add 1,099 beds for the Aster which already had 2,480 beds in their four hospitals in the state, group Chairman and Managing Director Azad Moopen said.
The 200-bed "Aster MIMS" at Kannur and "Aster Capital" with 749 beds at Thiruvananthapuram were in different stages of construction and planning and were expected to be ready for launch by 2018 and 2021 respectively, he told a press conference here.

With this, the hospital group with 4,764 employees was expected to become one of the largest private sector healthcare players in the state, he said. Moopen also said the group was evaluating a proposal to set up a 150-bed Children's Hospital at its Aster Medcity campus here.
