Dubai-based Aster DM Healthcare plans to invest around Rs 600 crore over the next three years in various Kerala-based projects including a new 500 bed super-speciality hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
The company currently operates a total of 16 hospitals, over 85 clinics and 200 pharmacies in the Middle-East and India.
"Looking at the investor-friendly attitude of the government (in Kerala), we are pleased to announce multiple investments of around 600 crore in Kerala in various projects in 3 years," Aster DM Healthcare Chairman & MD Azad Moopen said on Tuesday.
The super-speciality hospital will be a greenfield project in the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram, he added.
The Aster DM Healthcare group is the largest employer in the healthcare sector in Kerala, he added.
The group had announced two new projects, a 250 bed multi-speciality hospital in Kannur and a 300 bed super-speciality hospital in Kozhikode last month, Aster DM Healthcare said in a statement.
In India, Aster DM Healthcare currently has eight hospitals in India — four in Kerala, two in Maharashtra, one in Telangana and one in Karnataka — with a total 1,840 beds.
