Shares of AstraZeneca Pharma India today surged over 5 per cent after the company reported a stand-alone net profit of Rs 8.7 crore for the third quarter ended December.
The stock climbed 5.27 per cent to settle at Rs 1,223.90 on BSE. During the day, it soared 7.15 per cent to Rs 1,245.75.
On NSE, it gained 4.99 per cent to end at Rs 1,223.40.
The company added Rs 153.75 crore to Rs 3,059.75 crore in market valuation.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 13.40 crore for the same period of the previous fiscal, AstraZeneca Pharma India had said in a filing to BSE on Saturday.
Stand-alone total income of the company stood at Rs 144.58 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs 108.20 crore in the year-ago period.
