At least 30 killed in Iran after quake: official

A 7.3 magnitude quake which struck the Iran-Iraq border has killed 30 people on the Iranian side, a senior official said on state television.

"For the moment, we have 30 deaths in different cities," Mojtaba Nikkerdar, the deputy governor of Kermanshah province said late yesterday, underscoring that the toll could rise.

The earlier count had stated seven fatalities.
