At least 48 crusher machines destroyed in anti-quarry drive in Bihar

The labourers engaged in quarrying stones managed to escape from the spot ahead of police raid

In an anti-quarry drive in Bihar's Rohtas district, at least 48 crusher machines were destroyed under Dehri police station area, a police officer said.

The police raided illegal quarry sites in Gopi Bigaha village and destroyed at least 48 crusher machines engaged in crushing stone, Superintendent of Police (SP), Manavjit Singh Dhillon said.

The labourers engaged in quarrying stones managed to escape from the spot ahead of police raid, he said.

A haul of plastic goods, rope and related materials being used for quarry-related works were also destroyed in a fire ignited from a spark in a generator set lying at quarry site, Dhillon said.
