Athletic coach attacked by drunkards in Nashik

A 35-year-old athletic coach was attacked by two drunkards at city's Goda Park near Asaram Bapu bridge this morning, police said.

Vaijnath Kale (35) was injured in the attack and was admitted to a private hospital, said officials at Mhasrul police station.

"The incident took place when Kale was training some girls. Two men came on a motorcycle and started teasing the girls, when Kale showed resistance, they stabbed him in stomach and back," said police.

Nashik district collector Radhakrishnan B, who was present in the park for morning walk, informed the police, who rushed to the spot and nabbed the duo, police said.
