The Patna police today arrested the killer of a security guard inside an ATM during an abortive bid to loot cash from Mauryalok shopping complex near Dakbungalow roundabout, in the heart of the state capital late on Friday night.
Following a lead provided by the damaged CCTV near the crime site, the police arrested the killer Subhamam Kumar, a resident of Shiv mandir Golghar under Buddha colony police station, a statement from Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj's office, said.
The police also recovered the sword used in the killing of the ATM guard.

The miscreant, however, was not successful in his attempt to loot cash from the ATM, the SSP said adding, in the process the guard was killed by a sharp weapon when he tried to resist the loot bid.
The accused confessed to the police that he tried to loot the ATM for want of cash, the statement added.
In the wake of incident, the SSP had relieved Avinash Kumar from the post of Kotwali police station SHO.
Ramshanker Singh would replace Avinash Kumar as the new SHO of Kotwali police station.
The statement said the police would make efforts for early prosecution of the accused through a speedy trial, the statement added.
