An ATM guard was shot at by three persons who had allegedly come to rob bank officials who were refilling cash at the moment inside a kiosk at west Delhi's Uttam Nagar area, police said today.

The guard is recovering at a hospital where he underwent a surgery after the bullet grazed through his face, police said.

The incident was reported around 10.45 PM yesterday when the ATM was being refilled and three men approached the kiosk. When the guard stopped them, they entered into an argument and one of the men entered the kiosk and tried to snatch a bag full of cash which the agents were carrying, said police.

When the guard held that man from the back, another man pulled out a pistol and shot at the guard.

Meanwhile, the bank officials there raised an alarm, following which the robbers tried to flee.

But the locals gave a chase, held one of them and handed him over to police.

A hunt has been launched for the other two accused, police said.
