Attack on eatery: Suspended DMK man surrenders before court

A suspended DMK worker, wanted in connection with the alleged assault on employees of a restaurant which declined to serve him food, surrendered before a city court today, police said.

Others, involved in the attack, have already been arrested, the police said.

The suspended Yuvaraj was remanded to custody, they said.

A video of the attack, which took place here recently had gone viral on social media showing a couple of persons thrashing the employees of the restaurant which did not serve them food as it was closing time.

A case was filed against Yuvaraj and some of his accomplices following the incident, the police said.

 

The DMK had suspended him and another person for allegedly violating the party discipline and bringing disrepute to it.

Later, the DMK working president MK Stalin had visited the eatery and enquired about the incident with its owner and some of the affected employees.
