18 lawyers, including some office bearers of Sambalpur Bar Association, were arrested for abusing, misbehaving and obstructing a government official in performing duty, sub-divisional police officer P K Mohapatra said.
The arrest was made on the basis of two separate FIRs lodged by the district collector and the deputy sub-registrar of Sambalpur regarding the unsavoury incident of April 23.
The arrested lawyers were produced before a local court which granted them bail on personal bond, Mohapatra said.
The lawyers on April 23 had allegedly ransacked Darswal's residential office and allegedly abused her over a dispute relating to hike in land registration fee.
The lawyers had also allegedly attacked the office of the deputy sub-registrar and assaulted him while protesting hike in the registration fee.
