Attacks by wild animals: Haryana enhances rate of compensation

Haryana Government today enhanced the compensation being given on account of injuries or casualty to human beings and cattle after attacks by the wild animals.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that in case of death of a person due to attack of wild animals like leopard, the amount of compensation has been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs two lakh whereas in case of death of a minor due to attack of wild animals the compensation has been raised from Rs 20,000 to Rs 70,000.

Similarly, the rate of compensation being given in case of disability caused to human body due to attack of wild animals has been increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs one lakh whereas in case of disability caused to a minor due to attack of wild animals has been enhanced from Rs 10,000 to Rs 35,000.
 

Hooda said that in case of death of cattle due to attack by leopard, hyena or wolf, the rate of compensation has also been increased.

Now, in case of death of cow due to attack by leopard, hyena or wolf Rs 12,000 would be given instead of Rs 800, in case of death of bulls Rs 12,000 would be given instead of Rs 1200 and in case of death of buffalo Rs 30,000 would be given instead of Rs 15,000.
