Attacks on Hindu outfit leaders in TN taken up with Home Min

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan today discussed with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the spate of attacks on Sangh parivaar outfit members in Tamil Nadu, including the recent killing of two functionaries.

Radhakrishnan, who hails from Tamil Nadu, took up with Singh, the murder of Hindu Munnani's Coimbatore district unit office-bearer C Sasikumar and VHP's Hosur functionary R Suri last month.

Radhakrishan also highlighted various other attacks, including the one on BJP office at Dindigul and on a party functionary in that district, and other assaults on members of Hindu groups recently in the state, a release from the Minister's office said here tonight.
 

Such attacks were "on the rise in Tamil Nadu", Radhakrishnan told Singh during their meeting, the release said.

He urged the Home Minister for "swift action" to ensure the arrest of the culprits behind these attacks and also take strong action against "extremist groups" in the state.
