An accused in an attempt to murder case, who escaped from police custody on Saturday, was re-arrested today in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said.
Rohit Singh, 26, escaped from the lock up after feigning sickness on July 21 leading to the suspension of a sub-inspector and prompting a manhunt to arrest him, the official said.
A fresh case in connection with his escape was registered.
After hectic efforts the accused was arrested from the Reasi town, taking the number of those arrested in connection with the particular attempt to murder case to three, he said.
The case against the trio was registered on July 16 after Rohit Singh, his brother Rahul and another person Shivtan Singh, residents of a village in Reasi district, allegedly attacked and injured three officials of the AFCON construction company, the official said.
While Rohit Singh was arrested the same day, his brother and Shivtan were arrested yesterday, the official said.
