The cassette was played after the special judge accepted the plea of the prosecution in this regard. In the last hearing in the case on May 22 the court has asked the prosecution to hand over a copy of the cassette to the accused.
Special Public Prosecutor Jiwan Lal Sharma said evidence has been provided to the court to prosecute V B Singh and his wife under different sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
After hearing prosecution's arguments, the court listed the matter for hearing on June 6.
The cassette purportedly contained telephonic conversation of V B Singh, with Mohinder Lal, an IAS officer of Himachal cadre since dead), and his wife with some industrialists, regarding some financial transactions. (MORE)
