Devotees sat in meditation before the samadhis of Aurobindo and his spiritual collaborator, The Mother (Mirra Alfassa) from early morning at the Ashram premises, which he founded in 1926, Ashram sources said.
Devotees also visited the room where Aurobindo carried on his spiritual experiments and offered homage.
Aurobindo, who propounded the concept of Integral Yoga, died at the age of 78.
