A man in Australia had to suffer agonising pain after a 2cm cockroach burrowed into his ear before doctors used forceps to remove the insect.
Hendrik Helmer, from Darwin, had to endure a painful hospital visit after the large cockroach entered his ear and his efforts to suck the insect out with a vacuum cleaner failed.
Helmer has bagged the unofficial title of having the largest cockroach removed from a human ear in Darwin, the 'ABC News' reported.

Helmer's ordeal began early Wednesday morning when he was woken up by a sharp pain in his right ear.
He tried squirting water from a tap into his ear to flush the insect out, after his failed attempt to suck it out with a vacuum cleaner, the report said.
As his pain became excruciating, Helmer's flatmate rushed him to a hospital.
A doctor at the hospital put oil down his ear canal, which forced the insect to crawl in deeper but eventually died.
The doctor then inserted forceps into his ear and pulled out the cockroach.
