Australia should integrate more with Asia: Survey

According to a survey by CPA Australia, a global accounting body with a membership of more than 1,39,000 finance, accounting and business professionals across the globe, Australia's lack of integration with Asia was affecting its ability to compete internationally.

The survey contains views of more than 6,000 Australian and Asian business leaders from across the mining, education, transport industries.

"This discord should act as a wake-up call for Australia to realise that it may not be as closely integrated with Asia as it believes," CPA Australia CEO Alex Malley said.

"Furthermore, Australia's apparent disengagement from Asia and the lack of Asian literacy in the broader population is a distinct competitive disadvantage.
