Authorities asked to take speedy action

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has asked authorities to take immediate action in a case related to the death of four persons in a clash in Nagaur district of Rajasthan which also left seven others injured.

The Commission's chairman P L Punia visited the concerned village yesterday and asked the district administration to take speedy action in the matter.

Four persons - three from Dalit community and one from Jat community - were killed on Thursday in an old land-related dispute in Dangawas village of Merta city.

The supporters of Kanaram Jat and Ratna Ram Meghwal, armed with sharp edged weapons and guns had clashed with each other, SHO Merta City Nagaram said.
 

While Rampal died of a bullet shot, three others - Ratna Ram, Pokar Ram and Pancha Ram succumbed to injuries inflicted by other weapons, he said.
