Hardline Hurriyat Conference headed by Syed Ali Shah Geelani today claimed that authorities prevented it from holding a seminar at the separatist leader's residence in Hyderpora area of the city.
"The seminar was scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM and early in the wee hours, police contingents laid a siege and did not allow anyone, including the media men to enter. Everyone was pushed back," Ayaz Akbar, spokesman of the Hurriyat, said in a statement.
Akbar criticised the administration for its "undemocratic approach," and said the restrictions were uncalled for.
