Authorities in Pulwama district today seized 85 cartons of the Nestle Maggi noodles from market, a day after the Jammu and Kashmir Government imposed a ban on sale of the popular instant food.

Food Safety officers lifted nine samples of Maggi noodles and other noodles from the main market in Pulwama district for laboratory tests and seized 85 cartons of the Nestle product, an official spokesman said.

The Government yesterday imposed ban on sale of Maggi products in the state following reports of high quantity of lead and MSG in the popular snack.

The government has advised people not to consume Maggi noodles and also directed food business operators against selling, storing, exhibiting or distributing the food product.
