Authorities to keep close tab on stunt bikers in GHT

"We will identify those who are involved in stunt biking and take action against them. It could also involve cancellation of their licences," Kamrup (Metro) District Transport Officer Gautam Das said.

He was speaking on the sidelines of the concluding ceremony here of the week-long Road Safety Week.

Das further requested parents to ensure that their children refrain from taking up such dangerous activities.

"If anybody witness such incidents, they should immediately inform our police control room. We are committed to take action against those who indulge in such activities," Guwahati Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Bibekananda Das.

The SP further said the ongoing drive against people who indulge in driving after having alcohol would continue.

 

Meanwhile, the Road Safety Week whihc began across the state on January 1 witnessed a number of mass awareness campaign including street plays and signature campaigns.
