Auto driver held for raping daughter

A 42-year-old auto driver has been arrested in Anantpura area here for allegedly raping his minor daughter, police said today.

An FIR was registered against Mohammad Akram under relevant sections of IPC and POSCO Act. He was arrested last night, police officer Jhabarmal Chaudhary said, adding he was produced before a court today which sent him to judicial custody.

According to a complaint filed by the victim's mother, her husband sexually abused their 15-year-old daughter on several occasions.

She said Akram committed the crime when there was no one in the house. She added that her daughter was a school dropout and stayed at home, while she and her son went for work, police said.
 

Chaudhary said C I of Anantpura police station, Anil Joshi, is investigating the matter.
