An auto driver was killed in a road accident involving a vehicle driven by a businessman near Safadarjang hospital, police said today.
The accused -- Satvik Pathak (26) was arrested later, they said.
A police team rushed to the spot after they received a PCR call about the accident late night yesterday. The policemen found a damaged auto and rushed the auto driver, identified as Rohit (41), to Safdarjanj hospital where he was declared dead, DCP(south) Romil Baaniya said.
Police found bumper and broken pieces of number plate of the vehicle that was involved in the accident. They traced and arrested the accused, the police officer said, adding it was not clear whether he was driving the vehicle under influence of alcohol at the time of incident.
The body of the victim who lived at Mayur Vihar-I was handed over to his family members after post-mortem, the police officer said.
Further investigation is underway, he added.
