A 30-year-old security guard at a two-wheeler showroom in Rohini's Begumpur area was today stabbed to death allegedly by unidentified persons who also stole a scooter and CCTV footage record from the premises, police said.

The incident came to light this morning after the showroom was found unlocked and body of Pappu, with multiple stab wounds, was found lying there, they said.

Pappu was a resident of Auraiya district in Uttar Pradesh and used to stay in the showroom for the night.

He was stabbed repeatedly with a screwdriver.

The accused took away a scooter from the showroom and the digital voice recorder of the CCTV cameras, installed inside and outside the showroom, from a first floor room after breaking the lock.

It is suspected that the accused took away the DVR so that the police could not get a clue about them.

Police are also probing the role of an insider as the way the accused stole the DVR from the first floor.

Apart from the robbery angle, the police are also probing whether it was a fallout of a personal enmity. The accused might have stolen the scooter in order to portray the incident as an act of robbery.

The showroom of a popular automobile brand was opened a month ago. The company, however, has refused to comment on the issue.

Police are scanning the CCTV footages from nearby areas to identify the accused but yet to get any leads.
