Award-winning films to be screened in Delhi

Movie lovers in the capital are in for a treat as fifty seven films that won national awards in 2012 will be screened for public at the National Film Festival that is set to begin here from tomorrow.

The festival is being organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Officials said that 38 Feature Films and 19 Non-Feature Films will be screening during the 11 days festival.

As a mark of respect to ace director Rituparno Ghosh, whose recent death at an early age shocked the film fraternity, the festival will open with his award winning Bengali movie 'Chitrangada'.
 

Ghosh had won Special Jury Award for the film at the National Film Awards 2012. Non-Feature film 'Timbaktu' directed by Rintu R Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh will also be shown on the opening day.

Other award winning feature films which will be screening during the festival are Delhi Safari, Dekh Indian Circus, Chittagong, OMG Oh My God, Ishaqzaade, Bharath Stores, Paradesi, Gangs of Wasseypur, Filmistaan, Vicky Donor and Kahaani which are all hindi movies.

The festival will also screen Shabdo (Bengali), Vishwaroopam (Tamil), Vazakkuenn 18/9 (Tamil), Kaliyachan (Malayalam), The Good Road (Gujarati), Leipaklei (Manipuri), Anumati (Marathi), Black forest (Malayalam), Celluloid (Malayalam), Talaash (Hindi), Samhita (Marathi), Investment (Marathi), Baandhon (Assamese), Ozhimuri (Malayalam).

Other movies to be screened include Thanichalla Njan (Malayalam), Nabar (Punjabi), 101 Chodhyangal (Malayalam), Sprit (Malayalam), Annayum Rassolam (Malayalam), Ustad Hotel (Malayalam), Eega (Telugu), Harud (Urdu), Lessons in Forgetting (English), Dhag (Marathi) and Pan Singh Tomar (Hindi).
