Ayurveda a way of life, says Mauritius President

Ayurveda is not just a medicine, but a way of life, Mauritius President Rajkeswar Puryaag said here today.

"Medicines across the globe are getting costlier. It is not accessible to poor people", Purryag said after handing over the NABH certificate for quality health care and safety to Dr A M Anvar, chairman and Managing Director of Punarnava Ayurvedic hospital at nearby Edapally here.

The President said he has bee taking ayurvedic medicines for the past one year and "my health has been better than it was".

"Mauritius is thankful to India for promoting Ayurveda", he said.

Dr Bhawana Gulati Muradia, Assistant Director, National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) and health care providers, delivered the keynote address.
