Mizoram Health Minister Lal Thanzara today said efforts were being made to post an Ayush doctor in government hospitals where one allopathy doctor is posted and for establishment of a separate Ayush directorate.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the four-day Arogya Mela or health festival in Aizawl, Lal Thanzara said 52 Ayush doctors under the state health department were posted in district headquarters as well as Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres.
They would also be posted in remote areas to cater to the needs of all sections of the people across the state, he said.
"As herbal medicines are regarded as having no side effects, people should learn to use herbal medicine for cure of different ailments," he said, urging the people to protect and preserve medicinal plants available in the state.
