The Ministry of AYUSH spends approximately Rs 20 crore annually on its five research centres across the country, the government said today.
The centre spends Rs 8,59,89,000 on Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH), Minister of State for AYUSH, Sripad Yesso Naik, said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
The council functions through a network of 40 institutes and units located in different parts of the country.

The Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM) gets 5,88,52,000 from the centre annually. Rs 4,97,10,207 is spent on Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) which is the apex body for undertaking, coordinating, formulating, developing and promoting research in Ayurveda on scientific lines.
The emphasis of CCRAS is on finding effective and low cost remedies for various diseases through systematic research.
Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS) receives Rs 14,02,000 and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN) gets 10,67,000 annually from the government, he said.
