Azad announces package for upgradation of hospitals in Kargil

The Health Minister, on a two-day tour of the district, announced a package of over Rs 10 crore for upgradation of four hospitals in Kargil.

Rs 2.85 crore would be allotted to Sankoo Hospital, Rs 4.75 crore to Zanskar Hospital, Rs 1.85 crore to Kargil District hospital and Rs 2.34 crore to Drass Sub District Hospital.

Appreciating the efforts of local doctors in catering to people in far-flung villages in the district, the minister said an amount of up to Rs 15,000 would be given as incentive to medicos working in remote villages.

Azad also addressed a public gathering in the morning where he appreciated the public for keeping away from miltancy and helping the Army during the 1999 Kargil war.

 

The minister was accompanied by J and K Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed and Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon.
