Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan today flagged off a consignment of relief material for victims of earthquake in Nepal from a university campus here.

Four trucks containing 4,000 blankets, 3,000 tents, dry food items and water bottles for quake-ravaged Nepal were flagged off by the cabinet minister, said Virendra Goyal, Chairman of Land Development Bank in Milak.

The bank is responsible for managing the distribution of relief material to victims.

Goyal said that the relief material has been donated by Mohammad Ali Jauhar University, of which Khan is the chancellor.

He said Khan has issued strict instructions to refrain from dumping the relief material at official storages and approach the victims directly to provide the same.
