Qureshi credits Modi, Rajnath Singh for being appointed as UP Governor

He added that additional charge of UP along with Uttarakhand reflects clear thinking of the PM and Home Minister

Newly appointed Governor of Uttar Pradesh Aziz Qureshi today gave credit of his appointment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

A day after taking oath as the Governor Qureshi after meeting rector of Nadwatul Ulama told reporters that additional charge of Uttar Pradesh along with Uttarakhand reflects clear thinking of the PM and Home Minister.

"This is about generosity, clear thinking and big heartedness of PM Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who have put faith in me. I will execute my responsibilities," he said.

Qureshi was administered oath of office as the UP Governor yesterday following the resignation of B L Joshi.
 

Qureshi has been given additional charge of UP.

Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud administered the oath to Qureshi at a function organised at Raj Bhawan yesterday.
