'Baahubali 2' opens to good response in Kolkata

S S Rajamouli's "Baahubali" received a good opening in the city, with theatres registering 80 per cent occupancy on day one.

At 40 Inox screens in Kolkata, Belur and Howrah, 80 per cent to 100 per cent bookings were registered for the Hindi versions of the film, a spokesperson for the cinema chain said, adding near full occupancy will continue till May 1.

"The ticket price range from Rs 180 to Rs 300, while at some high-end auditorium the maximum price is Rs 1,000," the spokesperson added.

At Cinepolis (east India), there was 80 per cent occupancy in two plexes in Lake Mall and Acropolis Mall properties.
 

At single screen Priya Cinema, which is screening three shows of the Hindi version of the film, there is 100 per cent occupancy in each show.

Owner of Priya Cinema and Priya Entertainments Arijit Datta said, "All the shows are booked till Sunday. The tickets are priced at Rs 90, Rs 110, Rs 180 and Rs 200.
