Baalu's meeting was as per the instruction by DMK President M Karunanidhi, who had floated pro-Sri Lankan Tamils outfit (TESO) in the late 80s and had been defunct till it was recently revived by him.
The meeting of Baalu with Mukherjee, follows DMK MPs meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in August, a party press release said.
During the interaction, Baalu also informed him about his proposed visit along with DMK Treasurer M K Stalin to New York and Geneva to meet United Nations Secretary-General and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, respectively, the release added.
The resolutions adopted at the TESO sought equal rights for Tamils living in Sri Lanka and a peaceful resolution for the problems faced by them.
