Singer Babul Supriyo, BJP's candidate from Asansol constituency, today denied that he had entered a temple to offer puja in a drunken state.

The Asansol Citizen's Forum, a local grievance cell, lodged a complaint with the Asansol (South) police station yesterday that the popular singer went into the Kali temple in the Damra area in a drunken condition.

The singer said, "I am a teetotaller. I never drank even a beer in my life, let alone wine. Tea is my only favourite drink. The complaints are baseless."

Babul Supriyo is pitted against Trinamool Congress' Dola Sen in the prestigious seat in Burdwan district.
