Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) today blamed the BJP government for the prevailing situation of intolerance in the country.

"It is a well-planned conspiracy of BJP-led Union Government that created a fear psychosis among the people, particularly in a section of the society, as it wanted to divert the mind of the people from tall promises the Prime Minister Narendra Modi made," former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi told newsmen here.

Irresponsible statements made by BJP leaders further aggravated the situation as tension along communal line was prevailing across the country, Marandi, the President of the party, said alleging that the situation was created deliberately.

Marandi said even as writers and scientists were returning the awards they had won, the government did not bother to hold talks with them.

Modi had promised to check inflation, price rise, bring back black money and even assured the people of the country to give a befitting reply to Pakistan-sponsored cross-border firing but failed to address any of them in the last 17-month in power, he said.

Referring to Jharkhand, he said the situation was nothing different as the state also witnessed communal tension. It was unfortunate that the ruling party activists themselves took to the streets based on rumours, Marandi said, referring to recent incidents in Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Jamshedpur and other parts of Jharkhand.
