A newborn girl was found abandoned at the foot-over bridge of Govindpuri metro station here, police said today.
"The girl is hardly two to three days old. She was found abandoned at the foot-over bridge in Govindpuri station at around 10 PM yesterday by the metro staff who then informed us," they said.
Police teams searched for the girl's parents but when no one could be found, she was sent to an NGO.
A case under Section 317 (exposure and abandonment of child under twelve years by parent or person having care of it) of IPC has been registered in connection with the incident, DCP (Metro) Jitendra Mani said.
