A new-born baby girl was today found abandoned at the bus stand area here, police said.
Some passerby noticed the infant and informed the police, an official said.
A police team rushed and rescued the baby. Later, the baby was admitted to Shri Maharaja Ghulam Singh (SMGS) hospital for treatment and care, the official said.
A case has been registered and investigations are on, police said, adding that the CCTV footage from the nearby shops would be monitored to ascertain who had abandoned the baby.
